Tyler93
Currently working on gathering Dungeoneering Tokens and have a bunch of loyalty points saved up. All I really do on Runescape is Monster Hunt and PvM, So I'm looking for the best Chaotics/Auras for that now that the EoC is out. May consider getting multiple chaotics if necessary. Any help is appreciated, Thanks! EDIT: Also wondering about Prayer, I bought 95 before the EoC for about 70M, 87 Currently just didn't have much time to play. Is it worth it to continue on my way to getting 95 Prayer or is it any good anymore? Original Account: Tylersk8shop (Joined: August 2006)99 Attack, Strength, Defence, Hitpoints and Woodcutting. Saradomin_Mage
Turmoil is still very good, increasing your max hit by around 17% I believe. One of the best auras now is Penance, due to how often you get hit and how much damage you take. With Penance and Soul Split it's almost possible to maintain near full LP and prayer points when bossing. I'm not too sure about Chaotics at the moment as Player Owned Ports are just around the corner, so I'd advise holding on to your tokens for now. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Tyler93
Alright, I'll continue training Prayer then and get that Aura while the sales on! What are these Player Owned Ports? Haven't heard of them really, Haven't been playing too much. I'll just keep my tokens then and see what comes of it. Also I guess another question would be, What kind of items am I gunna want to look at getting for PvM/Slayer? I enjoy doing all kinds of bosses so would like to have gear for all if possible, I have no idea what's good with the new combat as I've heard alots changed. Thanks for the reply! Saradomin_Mage
Player Owned Ports are an upcoming update that some have dubbed Kingdom of Miscellania v2. You basically assemble your own port, ships, crew etc and have them sail on campaigns to retrieve exotic materials/recipes that you then use your production skills on to produce high-end gear. It's believed that the gear coming from PoP would extend all the way to level 99, which would make current level 80 gear look much weaker by comparison. The main aims in terms of items now should just be to cover combat styles and get the highest of a tier that you can use. You can also choose items that fulfill different setups (2h, dual wielding, or 1h + shield). For instance, 2h weapons like the godswords/chaotic maul dish out higher damage when you're constantly using abilities, but if you opt for a more relaxed slayer task using Momentum, dual wielding weapons such as the vine whip and EEE would result in higher DPS due to less overkill loss. In terms of bossing, I believe you'd want to get a shield for most bosses to get the extra armour bonuses, LP bonuses, as well as regenerative shield abilities. So assuming you're not getting chaotics just yet, you may want to just get weapons that cover each setup style. Examples include: Vine whip : level 75 1h weaponEnhanced Excalibur : level 70 offhand weaponBGS/ZS/SS : level 75 2h weaponBlessed spirit shield : level 70 melee shield In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers. Barney.S
With soulsplit, on GWD bosses, there is on need for a shield. IF you're serious about bossing, get your dual cr-s first, then dual ccbow for Armadyl. ONly time you need a shield is when you solo Saradomin, then a wand and shield comes in very handy. I would definitely get that pray 95 if I were you, in addition to chaotics this is pretty much a given if you want to boss without being afraid of crashing. Ovls and dreadnips also help, but are not required as much as pray.
Tyler93
So with the Player Owned Ports are Gathering/Artisan skills a good idea to get up? Definitely gunna stick with 95 Prayer, Hopefully work on Overloads too asap. Are bosses harder or easier now in the EoC? Tyler93
Also, I just realized after I buy Penance I may still have enough points for another aura, Is there anything else I should look into getting? I'm set on getting Penance, That and Soul Split together just sounds insane. And is there any guides out for bosses now? Just looking through the forums and everything is so much different :o.
