I'm currently playing ports at the minute, and I am enjoying it. The only thing that's bothering me is.. why am i doing this? If i can't be assisted to make the new armor, then there's no huge reward?

 

Scrimshaws(?) seem good, but are they a case of learning how to create them, then from there just gathering the resources needed to make more?

 

Also - is there ever experience involved? (Besides meg, weekly, iirc?)

Eventually you'll be able to send your ships on voyages that will get you experience. How good this experience will be, remains to be seen.

 

Also, it would be good to hunt down scroll pieces in case the creation requirements for the armors and scrimshaws are boostable(stews, potions, etc). That immensely cuts the experience and gp cost for getting the levels required for creating the armors. And besides, it's the best armor in the game. Might be worth getting a hold of. It gives you a goal to invest your money in(rc, smith, craft).

I just find myself, logging on every 30 minutes, sorting the voyages out, logging out. Haha. Sent away for a Cyclops now. Well I am happy with the update, and i get that it's high content, but i'd still have put it 85+, 90 feels a bit too out of reach for a lot of people. Nevermind! :)

 

But yeah, I'm thinking that i'll do this now, because if / when i get the reqs to make the nice, high levelled stuff, i'll be able to make it straight away!

Smelting gold ore is ~2.67 gp/xp and crafting water battlestaves is ~2.98 gp/xp gaining 80k and 203k xp/hr respectively, pretty cheap for armor that's better than Nex sets.
