Sorry, stupid question

Featured Replies

How do I use the action bar to drop items quickly? I have seen a lot of posts saying it helps save time when fishing, mining, and woodcutting for exp, but I can't figure out how to do it.

Drag the item on the actionbar and hold down the key.

Only works with items that don't have other actions that take priority ie 'eat' or 'fletch'

On a related note, when I try this, holding down the key does not work. I have to press the key repeatedly, once for each item I want to drop (in this case, salmon or trout). How does one fix this?

And remember, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers!

My blog here if you want to check out my Times articles and other writings! I always appreciate comments/feedback.

Try locking/unlocking the toolbar. Sometimes hitting escape helps.

When you're having difficulty dropping using the action bar, do you have the items you are trying to drop bound to the final 2 spaces? For me, holding down the key for the last 2 space of the action bar will only do the action once, but if i have the item bound to any of the other spaces (I usually use 7) it works fine. Not sure if this is just me, or if Jagex purposefully designed it that way.

It seems to be a keyboard compatibility issue. Holding down the key works with some, and it doesn't work for others.

The difference between spamming a key and holding it down are minimal (at least for me anyway). As Hedgehog as stated, it's most likely just a keyboard compatibility issue, since I have the same issue as well. Just stick with spamming a key, it gets the job done just fine.

Oh yeah, I heard Apple users can't hold down a key to type multiples.

(ie: mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm)

and their mouse has only one button LOL

Edit:

For arctic pine or barbarian fishing and items similar to that, you can minimize the chat box, set your mouse on '1 button' and spam click LMB to drop.

Yeah, Arctic pines are so much easier now with the min chat box and drop it that way with spam clicking left click hehe
