Hey all, just wondering, how much is tip.it involved with IRC ?

 

I browsed around the forum, found out that there is/was a tip.it server (irc.tip.it) but couldn't find any sign of life, and as well as tip.it 's irc client (http://forum.tip.it/ircchat.php) which is disabled or just not working.

 

Since I play again, I was thinking about relaunching an old items lending tool (#lend), but turns out the rs community is even less involved with irc than it was before :mrgreen:

 

soo.. where are our lovely irc noobs gone ? How about tipit ?

It certainly needs a link like it used to have at the top of this page.

 

The web client in your link still works. When the prompt comes up, you have to click NO.

Ok it works, switched to chrome, but everyone seems idling :P

Yeah, that one got abandoned after Tip.It started supporting SwiftKit. It's pretty much now "If you don't support SwiftKit because you still hold their time with Zybez against them, then don't come to the IRC anymore." and that's how it will likely stay. :(

I don't think it has anything to do with people not liking shitkit. I personally don't like it but I use SwiftIRC every day via far superior IRC clients. (mIRC). It's just the fact clanchats/friendchats are taking over the userbase of IRC.

 

Anyway, Tip.it's 'official' channel is now #tip.it at irc.swiftirc.net server.

yup, mIRC is an excellent tool in so many aspects, it's a shame nobody gets to use IRC / mIRC (even for other things than RS)..

 

It's just the fact clanchats/friendchats are taking over the userbase of IRC.
