What can I do with my account?

Featured Replies

So, I've returned to this game from a year long brake to see the new combat system. While I don't like it, it is bearable and I'm going to do my best to adapt. In the past, I pked on my range tank for the most part. My account has 99 ranged, 83 defence, 94 magic, and 74 prayer. What can I do now to make money in general? I prefer pvm over skilling but I can do whatever. My only high skilling skill is 91 fletching and 63 hunter. I have thought about leveling up and maxing my account, but if the old system comes back, I feel as if it would be a ruined tank. Are there any specific ''boss'' monsters I would be able to kill with ease or with a group?

Thanks in advance, any advice is appreciated!

you can easily solo qbd, and qbd is 3m (always) an hour, and with good luck can be alot more an hour

[edit]

qbd can only be solo'd not in a group^

but most bosses are far more profitable to solo, with the exception of KK and nex

iOwn.... (kinda)

2 year old account, Hoping to max before 3-year mark.

Anyway, on a serious note.

Herb farming is still a reasonable source of gp, but prices are a bit unstable at the moment, so you'd need to do a bit of research into the best ones there.

I have thought about leveling up and maxing my account, but if the old system comes back, I feel as if it would be a ruined tank.

Sorry, it's not coming back. You're best doing as you said and adapting. I personally hated EoC until it was forced upon me. Now I'm grateful for the change.

In the past, I pked on my range tank for the most part. My account has 99 ranged, 83 defence, 94 magic, and 74 prayer.

Don't take this as gospel, but I believe that PVP is dead.

You could easily QBD, possibly solo Arma - although you might need higher def & prayer for that. You could easily Glacor too. Both QBD and Glacors will net you easy Defence xp, as you can now use both to train 100% Defence. Glacors were something like 400k xp/h last I checked (think that includes hp xp). I'd thoroughly recommend getting your prayer (and herblore up) to 95 (herb to 91-96) for Turmoil variants and Soul Split (for Overloads) as they will help greatly in combat.

Were you to move on from being a Ranged Tank, I couldn't recommend the best melee xp/h, as I'm not sure other than for Def, but were you to get them 90+, you could quite easily Maul Bandos GWD, provided it isn't much more difficult with the update.

Glacors or QBD is your best bet. I would reccomend glacors as you will need the charms anyhow and they drop a lot of them.

XPwise without extremes/ovls it is actually closer to 270-300k/h, with extremes it's around 320-350k/h (total)

They are also decent money makers. I swear they have vamped the drop rates to drop more boots. I've made like 10 M/h for the last 17 hours there... 5 ragefires, 2 glaivens, 2 steads seems too much drops to be a fluke.

Use fire surge chatoic staff and void.

Wow, rs has changed alot. Before eoc I don't remember soloing anything but bandos. Now apparently I can solo qbd and do glacors. Maybe this update wasn't all that bad. Thanks for the replies guys!(and gals)

Because of the Evolution of Combat, tanks are now equal to mains. That is, melee and ranged contribute equally to combat level, so a tank is simply an account without melee levels. There is no advantage to that, but for a few bosses there's no difference because they don't require melee. Glacors, AGWD, SGWD, ZGWD are examples.

Drygore weapons (tier 90 as opposed to other classes' tier 80) is the main reason melee is favoured for KK and Nex, but those weapons are still in the 250-300m range.

I meant that before EOC, the thought of killing it never crossed my mind.

As far as I'm concerned, QBD is impossible. :P
