Void armor effectiveness

I have had full (elite) void (all helms) since before eoc but i haven't used it since eoc because of the lack of def/hp bonuses.

 

Still i see a lot of high lvl players running around in void.

 

Are the attack bonuses really that good that they can compensate for the lack of def/hp bonuses?

Void still gives a 10% damage boost to all three combat styles, which is higher than anything else at the moment. Void trumps all other armors in places where defense or lp is not needed.

Context is everything. Void's usually what you wear when you're dealing with simply can't deal enough damage to overpower any healing methods available to you. For example, if you're doing the fight in Troll Invasion, void is a no-brainer for any player with even mediocre combat skills, because you're not being dealt much damage and you've got the completely overpowered restoring table to abuse.

 

Also, remember that a lot of healing methods like Soul Split, the Vampyrism Aura, Vampyrism Scrimshaw and Bloodfire spells heal you as a percentage of damage dealt, so that also helps.
