Marchenko32
I had to do a clean install of Windows XP on my desktop computer. The install worked, but it erased my Ethernet Controller. How do I get my drivers back? I am thinking of getting WIN XP service pack 3 in the hope that I can get back online. Kimberly
If it's a dell you should be able to take the support tag and go on their website and download them to some portable storage maybe?
D. V. Devnull
@Marchenko32, in addition to what's already been said, you might try to find an already present driver for "Intel® PRO/1000 MT Network Connection" (or other such device) and use that to re-enable the Dell's Ethernet. :geek: ....... Failing that, look for RealTek-brand drivers... but I don't think Dell uses that kind of Ethernet port. :anxious: ~D. V. "I hope this little tidbit gets you back online?" Markup
What's the actual "name" of your computer? > Alienware > OptiPlex > Studio Hybrid > Dimension > Precision Workstation > Studio XPS > Inspiron > XPS > Vostro > Legacy Systems > Studio and the model number afterwards
D. V. Devnull
@Marchenko32, if you've fixed the problem (or haven't fixed it), please let us know. Some of us don't know if a thread's complete (or isn't complete) if the opening poster doesn't come back and say so. :anxious: ~D. V. "Sorry for the extra load..."
