"Speedrunning" Competition - 50M Prize

Featured Replies

PvM Competition

When: 18.09 to 16.10 (4 weeks)

Who: open to everybody

Prize:

  • 30M for the first place
  • 15M for the second
  • 5M for the third

Entry fee: none, I will offer 50M to the pot

What:

The aim is to complete certain minigames/kill bosses as a fast as possible.

This competition will be held on the platform http://runerecords.webs.com, which is dedicated to time-based Hiscores. Here you can find the top 10 time records for the following categories:

  • Treasure Trail (easy)
  • Treasure Trail (medium)
  • Treasure Trail (hard)
  • Treasure Trail (elite)
  • Puzzle box (castle)
  • Puzzle box (tree, bridge, troll)
  • Puzzle box (corp, graardor, dragon)
  • Vorago (8 man or less)
  • Nex (solo)
  • Kalphite King (trio)
  • Tormented Demons (3 kills)
  • Queen Black Dragon
  • Glacors (5 kills)
  • Fight Kiln
  • Fight Caves
  • Barbarian Assault (10 waves)
  • Dominion Tower (floor 22 in climber mode)

Each category has its own top 10 list for the best time records.

Now, the winner of the competition will be the person, who does the greatest job across all 18 categories. This will be determined by the average rank. If a player isn't ranked in a category it will count as rank 11.

Example: Player1 is rank 5 at Vorago, rank 2 at Nex and rank 3 at the Dominion Tower. His average rank is (5+2+3+15*11)/18 = 9.72

The current leader of the competition as well as some other statistics can be found here.

How to participate:

You don't have to register. As soon as you send in your first submission, you are part of the competition. If you want to submit a time please read through the rules on the homepage and fill in the contact form afterwards.

This competition is NOT aimed at higher-level players. While it includes very high-level content (Vorago, Nex), there are also categories, that have very low requirements (Treasure Trails, Puzzle boxes, Barbarian Assault, Fight Caves)

Thus I don't want to hear excuses like „I'm too low level or too poor to compete“

Note: I also posted this thread on the RSOF and it was locked, because I wasn't allowed to post any URL's. I don't think this is also the case for Tip.it, but I may have misread something.

I like the look of this, guess I'll have a go at some of the PvM/Puzzle box ones. :p

Barrows drops: Dharok's helm x2, Guthan's helm, Ahrim's top, Hood and skirt, Torag's hammers, Karils skirt, Karil's top, Torag's helm, Verac's skirt, Verac's Flail, Dharok's Platebody.

Dag kings drops: Lost count! :wall:

4k+ Glacors, 7 Ragefires, 4 Steadfasts, 4 Glaivens, 400+ shards![/hide]

Shouldn't all the puzzle boxes fall under the same category - neither are harder than the other. At the end of the day each square can be labelled 1 through 24 and therefore lies no difference in difficulty.

The castle puzzle box often comes already half done, so that you get ridiculously good times.

My record for that is 15 seconds, while I haven't done a sub 1 minute tree, troll or bridge puzzle box yet.

I also wanted to seperate the elite puzzle boxes from the other ones, because the tiles look all very similiar and it is difficult to find the tile you are looking for.

  • 1 month later...

These look like fun, I remember doing speed runs of Weekly Penguins. Would be fun to try and compete in a category like that.
