I know ascension is the best but i cant afford that. and do you need to be wearing full karil in order to use karils crossbows? or to get the bonuses? Ammako Posted January 16, 2014 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I would actually place Armadyl crossbow slightly higher than pistol crossbows, since you can use it with off-hand Blisterwood stakes, in which case it would have the same stats as Karil's pistols, but with a Prayer bonus. The downside is that this would require partial completion of Branches of Darkmeyer, therefore higher reqs than simply using dual karil's, all that for a mere +1 Prayer. However, if you can't afford or can't use anything better, it's a nice choice. I'd definitely recommend at least doing the dwarf quests up to Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf in order to use the Hand cannon, though. That and getting 75 Ranged for it if you haven't already. Saradomin_Mage Posted January 16, 2014 Share Posted January 16, 2014 If you'd like it, black salamanders are level 70 2h bolt-type weapons which put them on par with the regular Karil's crossbow. If you're looking for 1h, Armadyl/Pistol will have to do for level 70. Blisterwood stakes are level 70 too. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
