Solo DG C2 vs C6

Featured Replies

Didn't want to hijack the other thread so I thought I'd make my own.

Since I'm DIY on my alternate I always solo, so the choices for rushes are either c2 or c6. I value fishing and woodcutting xp slightly higher than dungeoneering.

I either c2 my rushes, or c6 them and fish/cut along my path.

Since c6 resources always give full xp, is it worth harvesting any below my top two tiers? Additionally is it worth mining too?

Bind-wise I use hood, range body and t90 shortbow, with t80 maul (will upgrade to t90 soon) as an alternate but flexible bind slot. Is it worth removing the maul completely in favour of legs?

Obviously eventually the fourth bind will be used for blood necklace but that is mostly out of the question until I have hard mode unlocked.

For reference my normal training methods for fishing and woodcutting are fish flingers w/fly fishing, jadinko lair/teaks. Long-term these will be COTS rocktails and crystal trees.

I'm relatively sure there are alot less resources in c6- as in the total number is higher, but they are distributed between more skills. That's the basis of why c2's were chosen in the first place. C6'es will definitely give much better dg xp, however and only be negligibly harder. One armor piece should generally be more than enough. I use wep, body, hood and neck, in large dungeons would switch the neck to second wep.

I'm actually not convinced that's true

We do C2s because there aren't bonus rooms and the monsters are low combat

Yeah there are definately fewer "good" resources in c6. Obviously in my higher medium floors there's no harm going after the fish and trees that are right there.

I'll probably just start to care less about the non-crit in c6 smalls, should help a lot, and grab a staff as secondary too until bn.

It was my application to grimys idea that first started the c2 era.

I hate to hijack also.. But I've also been wondering this. I've been doing C2s for 1-30 and then C6 for the rest. I've been planning on doing this until forever really. Is C6 only crits 1-30 more efficient?

It depends on if you need fishing/woodcutting xp. For dungeoneering, c6 is better, but c2'ing gets your low dungeons done for 'free'.

I need fishing XP still. But say for instance, I'm planning on 200M in all three eventually. Should I continue how I'm going or should I get 200M DG and only do C2 lower levels for 200M fishing and wcing afterwards?

If 200m is your goal(assuming you play efficiently) you shouldn't solo dg, which is the point of this thread. In that case you should continue to do your lower floors as c2's and do higher floors as 5:5 larges. You will max dg way before fishing and later will do c2 frozen floors only.

That was what I meant in a sense. Thanks for the clarifications though! Appreciate the advice!
