bring_of_light
Hi guys, I was reading about armours at wiki I saw that only body, leg, and shield gives accuracy lose when not weared in the same class as combat. But I dont understand that for example a gano glove has way better stats then barrow gloves but ppl prefer barrow. Sorry if Im being a noob after asking that question but I confused after eoc about armours. bodies, legs, boots... Do they only give their all armour rating when weared with correct combat style which means I cant get full stat from a gano glove w/o using magic? Also do I get a bandos boots' %1 damage bonus when using magic? So much question in my mind some of those... I will be appreciated if you can answer. Thank you for reading. Quyneax
No, you won't get the damage bonus from Bandos boots when using magic or ranged. But you will get the full armour bonus and health boost. Armour rating is a universal stat. A certain % of your armour rating gets applied to your defence versus a certain combat style. What % exactly depends on what the styles of the armour you are wearing. For example, wearing only 'all' or 'hybrid' armour will give you even defence against all styles. Wearing only magic armour will give you melee defence equal to your full armour rating, but a lot less ranged defence. That means that you should use ganodermic gloves when you need melee defence, regardless of what style you are using to attack. bring_of_light
thanks you sir, this was realy helpfull. These are little but realy important details, does jagex explain those in somehwere?
Quyneax
I don't think so. The official wiki has pretty bad articles on combat, and the one on armour only lists what % of your total armour rating comes from a chest piece (e.g. the ratio of the armour values of Guthan's plate to Guthan's skirt and stuff like that). The more subtle details, such as the fact that not all hybrid items have the same armour distribution or that not all items necessarily have the stats of the level they are listed at - that's certainly something Jagex would never talk about. Generally speaking, assume that information comes from player research, unless a Jagex source is specifically mentioned. J a m e s
^ They should really reveal this kind of information somewhere. It's ridiculous how much research players must undergo to figure out something as simple (in any other game) as how armor stats work. noobs crowding hill giants? not on my watch
