Based on a sample of 1,000 consecutively mined gems at Kal'gerion resource dungeon without a charged amulet of glory, the chance of mining each type of gem is as approximately as follows:

• Uncut opal - 28.9%
  
• Uncut jade - 21.8%
  
• Uncut red topaz - 9.9%
  
• Uncut sapphire - 16.2%
  
• Uncut emerald - 12.6%
  
• Uncut ruby - 5.4%
  
• Uncut diamond - 3.3%
  
• Uncut dragonstone - 1.9%
  

Does gem finding scrimshaw up the chances of diamond/dragonstone and include onyx aswell?

I don't see why it would up the chances persay.

 

The scrimshaws effect is a small chance of finding a diamond dstone or onyx at the same time as you get an 'ore' - in the case of gem rocks the 'roe' being the normal gem.

So whilst yes overall for a set sample size you should find more diamonds, dstones and onyx, it wouldn't be altering the existing spread of gems as you'd mine say a sapphire and a diamond in 1 hit - the sapphire from the rock, the diamond from the scrim.

Cheers, seems porters are the viable way to go else banking is taking too much time. Going to keep them for Runite mining :)
