Finaly, an actual atempt at a pixel avatar...

Ok, let me say that first off, I did follow a sprite creation tutorial on http://www.spriteart.com . However, after I got the basics of it I did the shading and stuff my self. :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

About 10-11 Colors in it I think....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyways, i'm still incredibly new to pixel art, so any tips are greatly apreciated on this. I think I don't have enough contrast between stuff... maybe too much, buti 'll leave that up to you guys.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

EDIT: just realized I need a lot more contrast around the edge of the hood where his "face" is. I'll fix that up...

Thanks :D. I probaly would use it, but I will never replace my Rz3 avatar. have had one of him ever since I first started on Tip.it way back when, and he's staying. Lol. :D

Looking good, it's better recognizable without the black BG. Maybe replace the white BG with just a very dark grey rather than black, so some of the lines like the staff don't get so lost.

Pretty good for beggining, better than me. Try taking what you learned from that excercise and making something of your own creation. Remember to practice AA, interesting shading and dithering, and clear cut symbolism. You'll be a pro in no time! :o
