Deliaaaf
I have looked at numerous guides, and all of which seem to have negative feedback on them or don't seem anywhere near detailed enough for my liking. I am currently level 1 mining, and am looking for a decent (preferably in-depth) guide for the fastest way towards 99 mining, although will most likely stop at around 60/70 and become a member at that point to level to 99. Thanks in advance.
Hedgehog
Mine iron and drop it. I think the best spot is in the all kharid mine, where you can mine 3 rocks without moving. You can mine a little under 1500 ores per hour.
Arceus
At level 1 you are pretty much forced into either tin/copper/clay. There are many good spots for these including Varrock mines and underneath Falador. You'll want to do this until you reach iron and can mine it comfortably (perhaps a few levels past 15). After that point, powermining (mine and drop) iron ore is by far the fastest method. If you want to make some profit doing it as well, the resource dungeon under Falador is an excellent place to mine and bank it, as it is only a few steps away. It requires a minimal Dungeoneering level (15) to access the bank. You may have to compete with bots, however, which may be difficult until you level up a bit more. Foreign worlds are usually free of bots because they don't bother reprogramming them for another language and two worlds. A spot like the 4 rocks in Rimmington in a foreign world one be the emptiest. Re Hedgehog: you have to move one space for the third rock but it's still a great spot. The three rocks without moving bit was actually altered years ago :P. Just a deposit box, not a full bank but I also recommend superheating the iron as you mine it then banking it. sees_all1
Bandit camp in the wilderness is also a decent place to mine if you're not looking to bank. I've clocked it to about 40k xp/hr in the past, provided that you bring enough food for the hobgoblins to stop being aggressive. Not sure if it's single or multi since the introduction of legacy, but there are areas where you can continuously mine even in low population worlds. 99 dungeoneering achieved, thanks to everyone that celebrated with me! ♪♪ Don't interrupt me as I struggle to complete this thoughtHave some respect for someone more forgetful than yourself ♪♪♪♪ And I'm not doneAnd I won't be till my head falls off ♪♪
Steph
I've clocked 55k at rimmington [2:21:46 PM] Baldvin | Leik: these comp reqs are so bad [2:22:36 PM] Arceus Dark: Time to get...req'd?
Hedgehog
That's interesting because it takes exactly 3 ticks to mine an ore and 1 tick to turn to the next ore and 55k xp/hour is 1572 ores/hour Urns.
Arceus
I've done mining for hour after hour and I barely managed 42k in an hour, falling to around 40k/hr over many hours. And that's with urns, holding down the key, and mining all 4 rocks as soon as they respawn! Am I missing something? "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." Hedgehog
Oh yeah, urns. 42k xp/hour is 1k ores per hour, which means you're spending 6 ticks on each ore. You're losing 2 ticks every time you mine an ore. Most likely you're dropping ores when you could be mining. You also need to remember that the average human reaction time is 200-300ms, so if you're waiting to see the iron ore land in your inventory, you've already lost a full tick. Arceus
I don't think waiting is necessary anymore. Just bind a key to iron ore and keep holding that down the whole time while you click with the other hand. "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." Hedgehog
You shouldn't be holding down anything The process is mine ore, drop ore, mine ore, drop ore
Steph
Actionbar dropping has a slight reaction time to drop, that may be whats lowering your rates.
