This is a short question. I don't get how this amulet works, because all websites say something different about it...

Some websites (including tip.it) say that wearing it will give me bonus xp, others don't explain the bonus xp at all. What I experienced was that I could click on the amulet (when it has charges) and to choose for which skill I want bonus xp. Is this all? Or am I doing it wrong? I don't see what benifit wearing it has?

RS Wiki seems to say that you get an initial 500 bonus xp, then get more bonus xp as you complete tasks for Doric and Boric.  Is this how it works or are they wrong?

Yes, but doing the tasks give you "charges" for your amulet. I don't get why. It would make sense to have charges for something you can wear, but why can I take the charges out of it as bonus xp? Maybe this is because of changes in how bonus xp works, or I am missing something :p

Oh, so you earn charges, and then you cash them in for bonus xp in the skill, which you then use up (with or without the amulet on)?  Is that the case?  If so, as for the reason why I'm unsure, but it was probably just the easiest way for Jagex to clean up the code back when they did their whole bonus xp cleanup thing.  Allowing you to take them out for xp is probably just as a convenience so everyone doesn't complain about having to wear the amulet instead of a more useful item while skilling.  Remember clan rings, for example?

I don't know about clan rings (Never been in a clan :P ) But they could have at least made it a bit more clear, and don't call it charges but just stored bonus xp :P thanks for your help :)

Good point, I'll make sure the Item DB entry gets fixed up :).  Would it also be possible for you also confirm whether or not the amulet (in any form) has any combat stats or if they're all 0?  It may have changed since the Legacy update, so I'm just making sure.

I didn't know that having no clothes on gives you stats now (kind of confusing if you don't expect that). But I see no difference in stats when wearing it or not :) if you want screenshots I can provide those. Also worth mentioning (the rswiki does this) is that F2P cannot use the 500 bonus XP you get as reward.

If you do all the post-quest tasks, you can claim the bxp all at once, for one skill.
