So, there's an "Animate Rock scroll", and there's a "Pet rock". When used together, nothing interesting happens. I don't care what my pet rock does, but can't it please become animated for a short while and then "go back to sleep"? Just a lame idea I had when searching for strange rocks in my bank and the scroll was right next to my pet rock. I got excited, and then sad. Enough to xp waste by making an account here, which I've been meaning to do anyways. 

Interested, the scroll is a quest item...that would be a fun idea, maybe they can code it in someday. Or more likely, the "animated pet rock" will be coming to Solomon's General Store...

An animated pet rock that follows us around would reinforce the idea that Runescape is a fantasy game, and it would nudge some of the non-questers over to the dark side. I just feel like the pet rock is wasting bank space without paying rent. At least making it a follower would give it a purpose. idk. I'm just bored.

I like the idea - I'm just saying, albeit a bit cynically, that Jagex would probably want to monetize it rather than make a bonus reward from a quest :lol:.

That somehow ruins the joke of the pet-rock though :P

On the contrary, if it was an actual pet rock, the joke would be even funnier.

^Or all rocks are actually trolls pretending to be rocks.

I can't see why it can't work. I mean there are plenty of dragons, demons and all that in Gielnor, there is even a pickaxe that attacks.
