IronMan Questions

Featured Replies

So I am getting pretty bored of the game again, so I decided to pick up my Ironman I hardly touched.

1. Is there any place to get hatchets (greater than Steel) that are not enemy drops. My combat is super low right now

2. Is there a way to get Runes?

3. Is there a website that can answer these questions?

Sig

1. hatchets are possible rewards from treasure trails

2. yes, make them or buy them in shops, I think I am kind of missing the intention of your question here?

3. lots of them, tip.it is one, other than that http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/RuneScape_Wiki

I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. Thanks!

Troll generals from post-Troll Stronghold quest for an adamant hatchet maybe? According to Reddit they can be safespotted but maybe it's still not practical, not sure about your ironman's level.

With regards to runes you will probably have to make them since they nerfed a lot of them from drop tables last year. Perhaps you can use runespan to start you off in Runecrafting levels? :)

I don't know of a site specifically geared toward ironman tips/information, if that is what you mean by the third question.

"Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." Can games be art?

My blog here if you want to check out my Times articles and other writings! I always appreciate comments/feedback.

Depends if you're p2p or f2p.

Addy,Rune,Dragon is obtained either through drops or I believe clues with exception of dragon.

2. You can buy runes from Aubury, Mage Guild, and Ali (but some sort of req to unlock him I forget). I just buy my runes all the time, especially when you can enter Mage Guild - the stock is 1,000 runes.

Side note: If you are training Magic or Range, it's recommended to do so in EOC, because then you only use runes for each auto-attack (not the abilities). For Legacy, it seems you use runes per each hit. :(

3. No, but there should be guides lurking around. I actually learned alot from being in a ironman/woman clan though from all the chatter... could guest in one and ask and I'm sure people can help too. :)

Scapin' since September 2007 and Hardcore Ironwoman since October 2014.

Hatchets are a major pain in the rear end on Ironman. Warped Tortoises are a good source for an Adamant hatchet. Steel dragons when you want a rune hatchet.

Runes are best to just make them yourself though the Abyss. I had a rough time getting a Cosmic talisman. The 4 wizards by magnus south of Falador drop runes and talismans. The Dark Wizards south of Varrock are so-so as are the medium and large cockroaches. If you need Cosmic runes you can do the Shooting Star D&D.

This website is pretty good if you click on Items then type in what you are looking for. Scroll down to the dropped by section.

You pretty much have to get your combat up to get the hatchets. Work Slayer.

My Ironman account.

I should add about the hatchets, DO NOT  put the rune hatchet on your tool belt until after you do Legends and there is another quest that requires you to wield it. The rune hatchet will not work from your tool belt on those quests.
