Every once in a while my browser automatically goes back one page. Its been pissing me off. Nothing has been detected by my anti-virus. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You got a mouse with more that 3 buttons? One of them may be configured to trigger backwards while browsing the internet. You may accidentally be hitting the offending mouse button once in a while.

I do have an extra button on my mouse, but it just opens up the Windows 10 menu. Also I'm pretty sure it isn't my mouse as this usually happens while I'm typing.

Does it happen when you hit backspace?

Alright I found it. As this only happens when Im scrolling with the mouse wheel, I have resorted to using the scrolly thing on the right hand side of my screen. No problems now except I dont have the luxury of a mouse wheel anymore.

What is probably happening is that your mouse has a button for forward and back when you push your mouse wheel sideways, which is what my mouse does. Check out this page for solutions:

I personally ended up using x-mouse and changing the side buttons into scroll left and right, which is much less annoying and more intuitive. But you can just disable them if you prefer.

Or perhaps one of their keyboard's "Shift" keys is sticking periodically while rolling the mousewheel, causing the page jump.  This is known standard behavior for many browsers, including FireFox.  It's just a matter then of making sure those bloody "Shift" keys aren't doing anything by giving them a quick tap before rolling the mousewheel to scroll the page. :mellow:

One very strange thing.... it also happens on my Xbox 1. My shift keys seem to be in working order as I just upgraded to a new wireless keyboard and mouse. Maybe I shouldnt have chose the first one in stock as my set up might have been returned due to whatever reason, such as sticky keys for example.

I was in denial because I bought that microsoft keyboard and mouse for a hefty price.  :huh: Keys wared down very quickly and it had a virus with it. Mechanical keyboards dont wear out as quickly so thats where its at. My new Staples KB is working like a dream, no typos and a year warrenty.
