March 3, 200620 yr well my brothers laptop he just got shows runescape very very smalll, his screen is like 17.4" widescreen. um its like really small, to scale it would be like 6x6 u can barely see and most of it is a grey box. so i tried downloading the client for him but it makes it clear it got rid of the grey box but its extra small. someone please help, is it his java or his resoultion we cant figure it out.
March 3, 200620 yr Might be resolution. Try changing it to 1024 x 728. That's what I use, and RS works fine with me. But I'm not sure about widescreens.
March 4, 200620 yr as far as I'm aware the only thing that could make it smaller like that is via resolutions, are you sure you are changing them? it should get bigger and smaller as you change it at least....
March 4, 200620 yr Author the video card is 256mb if that helps, we tried changing the resolution to the smallest thing but it makes the desktop large and ugly.
March 4, 200620 yr right click anywhere on the desktop with nothing on there and go to properties, then go to setting and change the screen resolution there, decrease it first and if that doesnt work increase it, that should fix it but when your done set it back to where it was because your brother probly has it like that for a reason so that he can read more without scrolling or something
March 4, 200620 yr Author WE TRIED EVERY RESOLUTION SIZE ON THERE. IF U MAKE IT BIG SO THE RS SCREEN IS BIG ALL THE ICONS LOOK BLURY OR STECHED OUT AND EVERYTHING IS DISTORTED TRUST ME. we tried messing with the resoltuon why can't it just be like my laptop and be normal.
March 4, 200620 yr wow that pics kinda crazy, try uninstalling and reinstalling java or using a different type of java.
March 5, 200620 yr try deleting java files in "java control panel" (right click java logo) their might went something wrong when you first loaded rs... also you can try to clean your cache of the browser you are using (most likely internet explorer) (this has helped ppl before who had the same problem...) ..'messing' with the screenresolution isn't healthy for your pc ..
March 5, 200620 yr Author ok thanks guys, ill copy and past what u said and email it to my bro, ill let you know like tomorrow if it helps, hopefully he can figure it out.
