Did jagex change jellies?

Featured Replies

Earlier today I go to my slayer master ask for a new assignment, 147 Jellies. K, no biggie, so I go and slap on my dragonhide armor since they use a magic based attack (duh, everyone knows that)

Once I get there, I notice something. I'm using more food than I normally do here. Ok, no biggie, just bad luck on my part. Finnally, I run out of food and get to half health. At this point when training, I use protection prayers to drag the session out a little while longer. I use protect from mage and... 2 swings later get hit for 4.

Okay, no biggie, probably just seeing things, I think to myself. A few rounds later, sure enough, get hit for 3. So, now I'm confused and decide to switch to melee protect. It appeared to do its job and I continued training with no more damage to me until i ran out of prayer and left.

So... It appears Jagex changed jellies to be melee based, or am I just crazy? Maybe someone else can go test it and tell us the results.

They attack with melee but its magic based.

Hence hides protect from the damage but the correct protection prayer to use is protect melee, its always been this way.

Its like all the other slayer monsters like that, the pyres are the same way, its magic based melee so d hide is good against it.

I wouldn't go that far... I've seen a lot of people for whom regular armor is very effective, and they take a lot of damage while wearing hides. I've also seen people at the same monsters for whom hides give a lot of protection and they take a lot of damage if they wear normal armor.

It's been a while since I've steadily fought any of the creatures low enough to analyze this, but it seemed half and half when I was going for 85.

dont forget your guthans...or use the safe spot provided in my guide where you can safely hally, mage, or range them. If i melee them Ill proally sepend a load of lobbies even at 99 def.

Yah what they said, Wish Jagex did change Jellies though. Could do with some new flavours

What flavour are they now? I've been hoping for mint jelly.

Maybe if we're lucky there will eventually be several different flavours to choose from, and add an equipment needed "jelly jar" that you can finish them off with. Then you just go kill some...uh...peanut monsters, also requiring jars, called "peanut butter jar", then you can use them for cooking, with bread, and....................nvm this is getting silly.
