Trade Island *Idea MUST LOOK*

Recommended Posts

Trade Island

A must after poh's come out!

I know this isnt as detailed as the bank new bank post, but this should

be something to be considered..., just please dont make any negative

comments. thanks

introduction:

A sucessful merchant from falador has opened his gates to his luxurious private island. Cast away on a boat, or teleport if you have to...so set sail to luxury!

Main Idea:

There will be an island south of falador, take a boat from port sarim or teleport. once arived at the island there will be a path to the temple. once arrived at the temple you will look around and it will have a really magical mystical feel to it. there will be oak trees surrounding the island. once in the temple there will be 5 levels. (SEE IMAGES) there will be an elevator to each level, and banks in every level. in the temple it will have a nature feel to it, with palm trees in the middle of lobbys, and marble floors, with glass walls and there will be pictures of the merchant all around the temple.

Elevator: for the elevator there will be 5 options, main lobby,2,3,4,5

Teleport: it will take 25 air runes and 1 law rune, it will be 3 more xp then camolot teleport...it requires lvl 51 magic but in order to unlock this spell you must beat party pete in a dance off!!

floors/levels: for the levels there will be a main lobby which is open and for floors 2-5 there will be 4 rooms and an open lobby, and a bank chest.the higher the floor the more the $$$$

the fifth floor is for rares and discontinued.

i know the images are hard to see, but you get the main idea.

FAQ:

Whats the deal with this idea? What makes it so cool?

Well, It will make a good training area and it will help out with *better* trading areas.

Why cant we just use the trading spots were using now?

Well, thats why I thaught this up... it will help out because if you cant get into a popular trading world such as world:1 or world:2, you can just find where all the other traders are. The thing is that this will organize where to sell your items and where to buy other nessesary needs. If you ever noticed when your trying to buy something and your looking around for hours you wish you knew a place to go to. Well this is it!

How will i get there?

You may take a luxury ocean liner or even teleport if you have to!

Will there be other things than a trading temple?

Yes! there will be magic trees and great fishing spots on the island!

PLEASE NO PUTING DOWN THESE IDEAS! NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS ON THIS IDEA, IVE PUT A LOT OF WORK INTO MAKING THIS AND I DONT WANT TO GET PUT DOWN ON THIS IDEA!

This topic is open for suggestive comments, all suggestions will be credited for here:

1.Barihawk... idea for removing magics and fishing spots, thanks for suggestion!

There are maps to popular tradings spots like Varrock West Bank and Falador Park. Believe it or not, those are not disorganized ramblings. I can go to a certain point to sell or buy a certain item.

Also, what's with the magic trees and fishermen? That would make those skills much too easy. The farther large concentrations are from banks, the better. The island should stick to the merchanting place.

the thing about world 1 & 2 is it's so crouded. this will help out evening the worlds and creating an "ultimate" trading spot for each world.

thanks for the suggestions though :D

I have been rechearching building a mmorpg and one massive flaw with this is that servers dont like grouping, it large numbers of players in close proximity of each other means that the server needs to send lots of signals to everyone so it eats the bandwith.

Your acount is virtualy blind to the outside world in runescape. Runescape has an area of atleast 1k tiles by about 2k tiles so that is 2mil tiles of playable space, your account only sees everything within 10 tiles of your character so it sees about 400 of them. Normaly you will see at most 20 characters at any given spot, varrock and fally have about 100 within your sight posibly as much as 300 can be "seen" by your client. When you do anything in runescape the command is sent to jagex and verified by their servers, it is then sent to EVERYONE near you, 1*20=20 but 1*300=300 and everyone else is doing something so it increases exponentaly!

Because the client is likley p2p and cliend and server it reduces this considerbly but it still puts a strain on the system.

Cool idea, but it would mean everyone grouped together. The world would be mostly abandoned. Currently, there is a sort of authentic feel when traveling to different towns and having different people buying and selling stuff. It gives the game culture and diversity and makes it more fun to travel and sell your wares. Ok nvm cut the crap. I do like the multifloor layout. Seems logical and interesting.

Yeh i think they could make something like a street market and there people would put his items to sell. Then people would see them and would buy for the prices the seller puts.

Just a idea

we don't need another place for trading. its called world 1 varrock u noob

You're not listening. His idea would help balance out server problems, and help people quickly and easily buy and sell items, while still being interesting. I need a vacation, let's go to Trade Island?

Maybe there could also be some mini games there, perhaps have it shaped like a pentagon, a different mini-game in each corner, in the center the trade spot, and around it several palm trees, sand and relaxing things.
