April 21, 200620 yr They have other motives behind it as well. Some of the macroers will become P2P and once their accounts get banned they will have to pay again on another account. Though the macroers would probably stop getting members after a few accounts of theirs get banned.
April 21, 200620 yr Not necessarily, what if macroers will mine tons of essence on one account before selling it for gp, and then selling gp for real world money? This will surely cover the money hey pay for 1 month subscription anyway.
April 21, 200620 yr provided they dont get caught. p2p has a lot more mods and security, as well as a wider variety of randoms. its very likely that the ess bots will get caught early before they can even make enough money to cover the month. this is 100's of times less appealing to risk losing real money and have both your account and your credit card (possibly) banned from being used. there will DEFINITELY be much less autoers doing this Are you a member with a full bank and cancelling your subscription? Are you an F2P player that wants more bank space? Check out my guide on Going to F2P with a full bank
April 21, 200620 yr Essence split basically means that Jagex admits that it failed to prevent macroing. The split will negatively affect higher level runecrafters, legitimate f2p essence miners, mages, etc. Yet it does not solve a problem of macroing. Some macroers will still continue to mine regular ess and get less cash, others will buy 1-month memberships and mine as much as they can (the cost should not be difficult to cover, and leveling to mining lvl 30 can be done in 1-2 hours), others will switch to other things to mine or other skills to use.
April 21, 200620 yr shade_bandyt: The only macroing issues mods can determine and fix is autptyping text. No mods in f2p or p2p can catch an essence mining macroer, this is somethign a software does. Security-wise f2p and p2p are the same. If they are not, I wonder why... There is no extra effort to make f2p just as secure as p2p. It is virtually same game code, functions, modules.
