I've noticed that though I have high attack stats (86 + super attack potion + whip + other items), I am doing poorly against Iron dragons. On the other hand, when I used a dds stab attack, it hited nice amount of times, though it is supposed to be weaker then a whip.

 

 

 

So, my question is: Is there a kind of melee attack that is significantly better then other? Crash attack maybe? stab?

no dds may seem to be doint more damadge but the whip will awalys own dds look at your equimpment screen and see the attack bonus and use the highest type of attack bonus that will affect the battle

Foxbat, d'you not know that certain monsters have different defence +s and -s, shes not talking about trading or using the dds instead of the whip, shes just asking if Iron Dragons hace high slash defence, as opposed to stab...

I've just finished an Iron Dragon Slayer task and I noticed this too. Though I would say that, on balance, the whip was still the better weapon because of the greater damage done when it did hit.
