  1. Yes, they drop charms. After a slayer task of 119 Jellies I got 35 green, 6 gold and 2 crimson charms. Thanks :-)
  2. Anyone knows, by chance, if jellies drop any charms?
  3. hi, I tried using the "law running" system in world 66, as a law crafter to get some quick exp. But. when I offered runners equal number of laws for their pure ess (27 for 27), I was declined time after time. Can it be that the exchange rate became so bad, that im supposed to give more laws for less pure ess? or was I wrong about something else? thanks for reading and replying :-)
  4. ok, here are my answeres: 1 and 2: absolutly not. im not backstabing friends for an ugly paper hat, nor for virtual money. All the fun in rs gold is to get it yourself, not to cheat and steal it. 3. In this case, I think ill refuse to take the hat in the first place. If it someone I dont know - i wont take the risk that something will happen to the phat, even by mistake (high alch, someone hacking my account), and someone who dont know me will think i scammed him. 4. No, its even worse from keeping the phat. Not to mention that some itmes really dont worth the risk of getting banned and losing a character i worked on for 2 years. 5. I could easily attack - if he is skulled, it means that he attacked someone to get his items, so why would he deserve a better treatement? If someone is so stupid and arrogant to do it with a phat - all risk is his, and he deserve losing it and learning his lesson. 6. I would warn him first (and also check well if it isnt some kind of a scam) - if he insists to do it, after he got warned - well, he took a willing risk, and i've done my duty. 7. it dephends on the situation. In most cases, if he comes back and asks politely for his suff, ill give it back (maybe ill keep a small bit as a "fee" or so, but ill give most valuebles back to him/her - i've done it some times already in the past). On the other hand, if he acted as a jerk before (like taking my spot and refusing to share, using in[bleep]ing language, etc), I may keep all his stuff for myself.
  5. ok, thanks for the answers. seems that im keeping my distance for now
  6. ok, here is a question that someone asked before, but it wasnt answered yet: If someone enters the sara or zammy boss chamber with a fitting holy/unholly item equiped - will the boss and his 3 minions will be agressive anyway, or will they behave like the normal creatures from their army? If the last option is true - then maybe the boss could be ignored, and the minions (the 1 fitting your attack style) can be killed for drops? Ill be happy to get an answer for that :-)
  7. oh... in the official forums i read posts that its 1-handed but prices are way too high now - about 30mil
  8. 1. Is its 1-handed or 2-handed? I know godsword is 2-handed, but I want to check about the saradomain sword also. If it does, It will be nice to train strength with, instead of the old dragon scimmitar. 2. how much does the saradomin sword cost now? thanks for reading and replying :-)
  9. I dont think jagex hates pures, at least not the pker pures. As for pc, it was nerfed becuase the exp was too quick, and it damaged game balance, and not only pures utilized that before the update. Pure are not hated, but they are defiently (legit as they are) not the "ideal" way of playing, at least in jagex's opinon, and if a need to improve things for questes and other balanced chars demand a blow to pures, they wont care much. That is especially correct with skill pures (lets face it, the game didnt meant it to be that way), because they resemble bots in many things, even that unlike bots, they are legal. I mean that - every area that is easy for skill pures, is easy also for bots, and many methods to stop bots (like adding agressive monsters around resources), will also hurt those pure. In that way, jagex dont (and should) care much.
  10. Lets seperate two different issues: If there are more trainers then monsters, you cant demand from other players to leave the place bacacue "you were there first" - you dont own the spot, and the other player, exectly like you, wants to train and get exp in a reasonable rate. The best you can do, is offer to share the monster, rock, etc. Most of the popular and easy to approach sites are crowded at pick hours, no matter what world you choose, and if you happen to find an empty one, take in note that that can and most probably will change in few minutes. But, if there are enough extra spots around, and someone insists to take the spot you are using (not "your spot"), then he/she is a jerk. Lets face it: RS is crawling with 2-legged slimes, who would annoy and hurt others without hasitation, if that "makes *them* happy". For example: if you want to use a cannon at daggnoth - you could easily put it in one of the sides of the cavern: you will get enough monsters for quick exp, and let other trainers go to the other side and have some monsters for themselves. But the 2-legged slimes will never do that, and laugh at you if you ask them too, because they are the "me want all, me snatch all" types. Sure, it compleltely legal to be a swine... so if you cant do anything to throw the jerk out, just hop worlds.
  11. Thanks for the advise :-) Ok, I went down there and killed a few, and here are my conclusion. 1. Dark beasts will use melee 95% of the time, the magic attack is quite rare. 2. Ive been hitted 16-17 max with melee, and as for magic - i think I was hitted 12 once, but im not sure what is the max there. 3. With 99 def, guthan and dragonfire shield, their melee attacks didnt hit that often, but non the less - they do hit from time to time, and sometimes very hard. some times i got 3 hits in a row, like 16-15-13 or so, though i used a super def potion. With the limitation of carried food (due to mourner set you must wear), that can be a problem that will shorten the trip, and can make any lagging deadly. 4. my conclusion is that the best setting is prostelyte white armor + anti melee prayer + some food for the magic attacks (not half as bad as the mithril or brutal green dragon ones). If you need (like i do) wild pies to get slayer lv to 90, they can use also as food in that case. Thanks again for replying
  12. The things you say support my claim. The common thing betweem all the autoer kinds you mentioned, is that they are all trying to control supplies of goods that are meant for "buying skills" by other players. rune buyers and crafters (mostly nats) - magic, especially high alch auto wcers - fletching and maybe also firemaking. auto fishers - cooking auto miners - smithing flax autoers - fletching green dragon bots - prayer and crafting. And this is my point - The fletching-cooking-smithing-prayer (and maybe also herblore), are too easy to buy, no skill involved, no challange involved if you only have "Cash" - hence gold buyers, with connected to autoers. Change the training methods, and autoers market is nearly gone. Why chasing mosquitoes, instead of drying the swamp? As to your second claim: Every change hurts someone. Every big technological change in real life made many people lose jobs, change lifestyle, etc - no way around this. The fact that someone will get angry is not a reason not to change things. The main thing we need to check - will the change is good or not as a whole, will he cause more benefit or harm? people will always leave RS from many reasons, but those great people you talking about can also quit because sooner or later, autoers will completely ruin larger and larger parts of the economics. If a change of an old skill is good, most good players will understand and keep on playing, changing methods to fit the change.
  13. oops, wrong furom :-( mods, can you please move it to help and advise?
  14. hi, I got slayer to 87, and i want to use wild pies to kill some dark beasts for the first time. Some questions i have: 1. Its written that dark beasts use magic and melee. which of those attack are more dangerous so it would be better to use prayer against, if any? 2. what is their max hit with melee and magic? 3. another usefull tips for slaying them quickly? thanks for reading and replying :-)
  15. No, I want that training those skills (in the high levels) will require thinking, skill and challange, rather than sitting in one place clicking endlessly. Right now, Rs is the domain of routine and auto-acting, as it force us all to become "living autoers" to train. The bots are the mare extram symptom of that basic illness. Unpopular? lets think about it. im a high level that need 50k prayer exp - what way is better to get it: Spend 30mins clicking on the gilded altar (after buying dbones and in most casese - make a goldminer happy), or spending the same time avoiding traps, dealing with agrresive foes, passing obstacles and mining in a dark ancient ruin, to get 5-10 rarer items that will give me the same exp, more or less in the same time? If this will make some skills un-popular, so be it. That will only make certain that only fitting and thinking players will adavance to highest levels.
  16. I wrote that in a previous thread and ill tell this unpopolar, yet true, facts again. The main blame for the autoing problem is jagex, and the way they created the logic of Rs training and advancing. Harsh but simple: as long as skills can be "bought" in gp, and trained in an ever-repeating simple routine, there will be no end neither to autoers, not to gold buyers For example: as long as every moron will be able to raise prayer to max just by buying loads of dragon bones, Rich (in rl) and spoiled morons will buy gp for real money - no way around this. Hence, gold farmers and autoers will always follow. Solution: dragon bones become un-tradble. Instead, a new maze under one of the wildy's ruined city, will challange high-levels (combat, agility, magic, mining and logic), and reward them from time to time in a much rarer "ancestral ash jugs" (untrabble of course) that gives 5-10k prayer exp. same balance (its rare and slower to get), more challange, and most important: bye-bye green dragon autoers (for the bone part). Same goes with many other skills. The real solution: completely change the training methods of all skills (prayer, smithing, herblore, crafting) - much less creations for gaining a level, but each of them complicated and hard to create, and including non-tradble materials. To complete that - make low level materials give no exp after certain level. for example: iron stops giving smithing exp after lv50, and so on, That is the solution - up to my opinion, but I dought jagex will take it - from their very own reasons... :-#
  17. Though it is always nice to have new high-level foes and new loot, the coming of more and more dragon items highlights a very basic problem in runescape balance. Nowdays, most combat-related dragon items are moslty "showoff", rather then really usefull for high levels. Barrow items are better then dragon items, and with their prices going down and poh making fixing them much cheaper, most lv80-85 players will sooner or later get them. The range of levels in which dragon items are the best choise is quite small, and since the new dragon items will sure be expensive (dropped from lv350+ future dragons), most of those medium level players wont be able to get them before they will start using barrow items anyway. Conclusion: the only possible usefull dragon item that can be released in future is the pickaxe, The others are mostly status symbols - cause barrow items + whips will always be better, and their prices aren't that high (not to mention - easier to get). Another point: new dragon itmes will "help" making p2p smithing even worse then its current condition. Runite is becoming more and more medium or even medium-low level equipment. Smithing is nearly the only skill, in which you need lv90+ skill to create items used mainly by lv40-60 players... the only usefull smithing items nowday are range-oriented or alching products - neither armors nor weapons. If jagex wished to extend dragon items further, they must also consider smithing's fate.
  18. My stats (the sig isnt updated) are: 98 attack, 99 def, 86 st, 83 magic. I killed 1 dragon in the method you mentions (black draghide, whip, anti melee prayer) - but the magic hited often and hard, so im afraid i wont be able to kill more then 2 in a trip in this method. does anyone know how strong is their melee attack? (including max hit)
  19. Can somebody tell how hard and often their melee hit is? what is their max melee hit? (I noticed the brutal greens are quite weak for their level in melee, and hit much weaker then black dragons)
  20. Hi, my question referes to the pair of lv3 clue cordinates that lead to the deep wildy rogue castle. since the chaos elemental has deadly long range attacks, is it possible to approach the castle while staying out of his attack range?
  21. Though I will love to see a construction guild, I think you suggestion is (a bit) misunderstanding some of the points of construction. Con was meant to be a money sink, and that is the reason why players cant make their own planks, cloth bolts, gold leafs and marble (and yes, I know it can be seem absurd: high level crafters can make fury amulets but not a simple cloth bolt for a table-map, and the stonemason must get his materials somewhere). High-level and a full facility show-off house = awful waste of millions. That is one the main targets of that skill, and you offer is doing the opposite. On the other hand, maybe some of the harsh, repeating train ways of the skill can be ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅsoftenedÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  22. Let us make a difference between different points: 1. That lv118 was a noob (or more exactly - a Hoob (high level noob)), not because he didnt know something, but because he is too lazy or dumb to open a map, a thing that he can do using an option on his main game screen. And yes, we must admit it: RS is filled with that types. Those who will stand and hour in a bank, yelling: "need someone to take me to fally", but wont open the map, and so on. The problem with both pc and akc methods, is that it help those noobs to become hoobs :-w At least, afk methods requires some knowledge in the game: To afk at bendits, you need to know the desert to lay your hand on some god stuff. To afk in axe hut, you need to know deep wildy (and the lever that is found... ammm... in ardy :XD: ) - and you always in risk to get pked, or just be killed slowly buy the axes if you bring no stuff but a weapon or so. and guthan set requires money, or many barrow trips. The main problem with pc, is that it lacks any of those balance systems. 2. The fact that pc is "feeding the noobs" deosnt means that every pc'er is a noob, not at all. My though is, that the all the blame falls on jagex that supplied that un-balanced train way, and not on the players who use the option - whether they are noobs or legit players. But the fact that its legit to grab an opportunity doesnt change the basic fact: The game is getting more and more easy, 6 years old friendly, and so - filled with both noobs and hoobs, crybabies and such. while pc lures most of the flame, its not alone in this method of reward without risk, and "noob feeder" method: 1. The changes in lumbridge (fr33 stuff pl0x npcs and the over-easy facilities) 2. The pointless animal magnetism, makes arrows so easy to obtain. 3. The decision to make hunting skill so easy and fast training, without any danger or real difficulty (look mommy, I hunted a k33bit!!!!!1") and more... all goes to the same direction. So: 1. a Noob is what he is, not because he takes the short way to train, but because he is lazy and stupid (no metter what is combat level is). 2. The blame of pc is that he turnes too many Noobs into Hoobs, without letting them matture and face difficulties. It does not stand alone, but represents jugex current approach. 3. Jagex is to be blamed, and not the people who use the tools given to them. Pc should be never created this way (it should have been created as high risk - real danger of death), but since it was created, I cant blame legit players who use it, though I personaly hate that minigame.
  23. for show-off or battling weak creatures: rune plate(g) - will be switched in sara plate when I'll found one myself. dragon skirt dragon med For fighting magic-based slayer creaturs (especially abberant spectures): my favorite "Karil the holy" outfit: karil top and bottom holy book holy salve ammy inf. boots obby cape and my regular hardcore melee custum: guthan armor + dragon square + whip + rune boots, fury and obby cape. not so good looking, but it does its job :-w
