Lode
Runescape has always worked in Linux, which is good because that means I don't have to reboot to Windows to play Runescape (which would end up having me stop playing RS altogether). The new engine of Andrew/Jagex sounds very cool. However, I'm wondering if they will still have thought about the Linux users? The dual core support sounds scary, because I didn't know Java could support such low level things, and maybe that could mean they used some library that doesn't work in Linux? :? Bubsa
I couldn't possibly tell you, nor I doubt anyone can on these boards. However, I find it highly unlikely that Jagex will stop support for Linux. They'd lose a lot of players and, more importantly, prospective players in doing so. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. dorkvader
yeah if they are redoing the engine so thorughley as it looks i think they would account for linux me i can never get rs to work on linux whenever i try, firefox crashes randomly. i can never figure why. but like i said they will probabley look out for linux when redoing it
Lode
I play RS in Opera, though in FireFox it works as well in my linux system, maybe try reinstalling the newest version of Java or so... tefda
Based on a business point of view I doubt Jagex would think about stop serving anyone who uses an operating system that is not of the norm. They want as many people to play their game as possible. They use the nerd-chic firefox and so they may even have a few people who use Linux (as it is very, very nerd-chic to do so).
