Because when you're down there you don't want to attract all 3 Kings at once because you won't be able to pray against their attacks. With a cannon in multi it will take a shot at whatever NPC it sees moving. In this case if you set it up in the wrong spot it would shoot at more Kings then you care to handle at one time. So 3 near deaths, no rare drops, and a terrible connection don't make for a great DK trip, I suppose.
