Does the allotment protectors, such as marigold and Scarecrow increase their yield or only protects from disease? Does all protectors protect from disease or do they act differently?

Also, if i left a grown allotment for long period of time, does its yield increase?

As far as I've read, here and on the main site, the protectors only protect. They have no other purpose but that.

As for leaving it in longer, that also doesn't increase yield as far as I know.

If Jagex ever made a perfect update, there would be players complaining about nothing to complain about.

As Jake said, protection flowers or scarecrow just protect, they have no effect on yield.

Also, paying the farmer just protects, it has no effect on yield, however if you pay the farmer that crop will ALWAYS grow successfully - you DO NOT HAVE TO CHECK IT OR WATER IT AT ALL. Whereas protection flowers and scarecrows just decrease chance of disease, they do not eliminate it completely.

Once a patch has grown, you can leave it as long as you like and it will not change. Won't die, and yield will not increase. The way to increase yield is to use compost, or for maximum effect SUPER COMPOST.

So for best yield with minimum effort, 1) use supercompost before planting seeds then 2) pay the farmer. Then you can forget about it until it's grown.
