Recovering an account.

Anyone got any tips on how the hell to recover an account. I haven't played in a while and tried to log in the other day and it said my account had been locked becaseu they think it's stolen.

 

 

 

I guess it got locked becaseu i've logged in from 10 countries and a few hundred ip's. I travel alot if you haven't figured that out. but why now?

 

 

 

anyways i tried to recover the account and it keeps failing. i can't seem to get it back. i was planing on playing again and getting p2p again. so what the hell am i gonna do. i was a lvl 71 combat. If i can't recover it i'll have to start from scratch and i don't really want to do that. i may check out another game.

 

 

 

so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The account might be locked because of the fact that tip.it server was hacked and they got a few passes from here.

 

 

 

There is a post about it on the general p2p or general board on what to do and how.

 

 

 

A friend also had it locked and she is puzzled about what to do. so far no luck.

Ok, so when you went to the inbox they must've said something about it and what info they need you to provide.

 

 

 

So, if you got the recovs wrong you must still have somewhere some info how you payed p2p (if you payed it), like the reference number to the payment.

 

 

 

If you didn't then it's gonna be trickier, the only hope i can think of are recovs.

i did the rocovers and i had an old payment transaction number but it said my info wasn't close enough to what was on there.

 

 

 

so that was a no go.

 

 

 

If i can't recover it i'm thinking of making a new char. it'll suck to lose my other char. which was about 700 skill but looks like i'm outta luck.

 

 

 

I haven't played in a while. what's all this i've been seeing about making a pure char?

LordQuad, you should be able to get your account back.

 

 

 

Jagex has locked many accounts as a PRECAUTIONARY measure. They've not been hacked, Jagex is just trying to be careful and ensure these accounts do not get stolen.

The last two topics have a lot of tips and ideas on what info to supply to Jagex to convince them that "you're you". Some people are saying it's taken them 5-6 appeals before they get it back. They are supplying info such as date of birth, month/year you started playing, etc. The info from payment e-mails is the BEST way to get the account back. Another poster in this forum suggested identifying stuff in your bank, such as what color your cat is, but I don't know if that is relevant or not.

 

 

 

I'm sure you'll manage to get it back, as many have already. Just keep trying.

 

 

 

p.s.: I've heard back from almost everyone I've given this advice to - they managed after several attempts to get their accounts back. :wink:
