Laharl
Please help, I was banned for "advertising an innappropriate website"... I'm absolutely sure I did no such thing! I sent a ban appeal to Jagex yesterday and still have not recieved a reply... since I am a member this is very frustrating as I have payed to play the game and now cannot play it. I guess my question is, how long does it take them to respond to ban appeals?
Loge_05
A day or two normally for Jagex to respond. You probably said, "tip.it" or "runehq" to someone and they reported you. It happens quite a lot. Offline and unavailable.
Laharl
Nope, I never mentioned a SINGLE website, that's what's frustrating, and thanks for your help.
Loge_05
You may not even have noticed you said it: eBay, Google would both merit bans. Send a query to Jagex asking what it was you said. They'll tell you. Offline and unavailable.
Laharl
ABSOLUTELY NO MENTION OF A WEBSITE, lol. I was sure to avoid it at all costs  . However, how could I go about asking them what I was banned for, if you don't mind telling me.
Loge_05
Well, you probably should have asked in the ban appeal. Since you didn't, then try 'Comment on our Service' and ask them through that. Offline and unavailable.

Marduk_God
One year ago, a good (p2p) friend of mine was approached by a lower level player which asked him for advice on some quest. Since my friend didn't have the time to guide this lower level player through it all, he directed him to this very helpfull site (tip.it). For some non-apparent reason he was thereby reported by someone for advertising inappropriate websites and was temporarily banned. He sent in a ban appeal, which was answered after 2 to 3 days, after which his account was unbanned. The moral of the story: people report you for the darndest things. If what you say is true, and you have explained yourself thoroughly enough in your ban appeal (which I take is the case); it should be clear to Jagex that you were not in fault here. They will get back to you as soon as possible, which may take a few days though. I sincirely hope you get your account back as soon as possible. pokemama
I was once advised by a Pmod that they weren't really looking to hassle people about fansites. The goal of the rule is to shut down people who come on JUST to advertise their site, and go around obnoxiously yelling about it. Unfortunately, they have to respond to reports. :( I usually say "check a fansite, such as tipit" so that I'm giving an EXAMPLE and not trying to say the forbidden "dot com" which they censor. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*. Gold_Tiger10
For some odd reason they don't censor out "Tip.it".....weird eh....(or a conspirecy...) here!
pokemama
Actually, they used to, which is totally unfair because all other sites have the .com implied. So it's nice to hear that's no longer the case. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
