Hey this is just a very basic tutorial on how to make borders. If you want to use this on a signiture for this board, make sure that the image is 292 x 142 or less. The one im using is alot smaller than that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1

 

 

 

Get your image, here is the one that i used:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 2

 

 

 

Go to image, then canvas size.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Change both pull-down menu's to pixel, and add 2 pixels to the number that is already there:

 

 

 

Before:

 

 

 

 

 

 

After:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3

 

 

 

Create a new layer by clicking on Layer, New, Layer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the layer box (you can enable this by going to Window, Layers) click on the new layer that you made and drag it down below the original layer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now fill that layer in with black.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Note: If you want, you can just leave it like that, but to make the layer look even cooler, read on.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 4

 

 

 

Again, go to image then canvas size.

 

 

 

Do the same thing you did above, but this time add 4 pixels to the number already there, instead of 2. Now go to the layer you filled in with black, and fill the empty area in with white.

 

 

 

This is what you should have now:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 5

 

 

 

Just repeat steps 2 and 3, but when you have to fill the area in with black, you have to click on the very corner as you did in step 4.

Oh, and just a question, how did you do the squares?

wouldnt it be alitttle easyer, if you just create image, 300x100... select the pencil tool to 1 pixel... create a new layer above the original... and just draw the lines holding down shift ?? tho nice tutorial :wink:

that inteferes with the original image, my way is better. the squares, i made a new layer set the stroke to 1 pixel black, used to pencil tool, size 3, and just drew them lol. text part, ill make another tut soon on how to do transparent areas.

Oh, and just a question, how did you do the squares?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Most likely you just zoom in pretty far, and use the pencil tool. :wink:

ok seriously, just do my way lol

yeah i did i make a new layer for every new stroke (transparent layer) and i select all and everything and i click 3 px, inside, color then ok but it just wont work :(
