Monkfish

Featured Replies

1) What cooking level do you need to stop burning Monkfish (with and without cooking gauntlets)?

2) Do you burn Monkfish less often if you cook then inside the village you fish them from?

I've been told that monkfish stop buring around mid 80s with or without cooking gans (most likely on a range as well)

On the lumbridge range with cooking gans i burn about 2 per batch and im 77 cooking so it seems to be about right.

As for quest #2 no it doesn't.

I just got 85 fishing, and using the Lumby stove, I still burn every once in a while.

Would like to know the exact level, also. Maybe my next cooking level will be it. :)

A circus in Runescape?? Oh my.

REMEMBER RUNESCAPE KARMA! Be a nice player, and nice things will come back to you.

I'm back, add me if you deleted me. :)

I was lvl 91 cooking when I started fishing monkfish. First I cooked a few hundred on the range in Piscatoris. Didn't burn any, with or without cooking gauntlets. So next experiment on a fire (burns more then range). Did a few hundred with gauntlets on and didn't burn any. Took my gauntlets off and immediately I burned 1 out of 28. That convinced me gauntlets do make a difference. Put my gauntlets back on and cooked 2k without burning any. That took me to lvl 92 cooking. So I tried again to cook them on a fire without gauntlets. This time I didn't burn any of 2k. So that's the level nothing matters anymore.

Btw: the Lumbridge range doesn't make a difference when you cook fish like monkfish and sharks! I posted that in Website Updates & Corrections.

Wow, thanks for confirming that. I took tuna and swordies over there to check in case it was better, and burned just as many as on a fire on Catherby beach. Nice to know I'm not crazy, I'll confirm your post in Corrections so we can get that fixed next time around. Thanks for doing the research on these things, we need input like yours to improve the website!

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

Makes sense. 92 is an even 30 levels off 62.
