pokemama
That part is a real bear. The thing to remember is that they totally block your way, too - you can't walk "through" them like most NPCs. If you have 43 prayer, run over to the altar to recharge and use Protect as much as possible. I think if you use the ladders to go upstairs it gives them a chance to move away from the trapdoor. My strategy (if you can call it that) was to go up in to the northeast "corner" thingy and hide from them awhile, then make a mad dash for the trapdoor again. Good luck. it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*. kwimbob
You can also start attacking them and running away, hoping to draw them away and to get them stuck so they don't go back and block you. Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well. And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. Makes for a good life.[hide]YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT.- See You, Space Cowboy.[/hide][/hide]

Lord_Gromit
Here's what to do. Take lots of GOOD food (swordies or better). Be sure to have auto-retaliate off. Run to the ladder along the north side of the temple (but still inside the temple) and climb up. Eat as needed while reaching that ladder. Then, drink an antipoison pot if your poisoned, and eat back to full. Note that there are NO monkeys that harm you up there. Once you're ready, go down the ladder just east of where you came up. Now run east and behind the flames. The monkey guards cannot get you there. Then, go to the most south east part of your safe area. You should be just north of the trapdoor. Now you need to wait until the guard between you and the trapdoor moves far enough for you to run by. Then, open the door and climb down. Note that you will get hit a LOT during this last stage, so be sure to eat. Once you're down there, it isn't hard at all to run past the zombies to the flames. This works without melee protect. If you have it, the whole thing is much easier, but I would still recommend using my paths. Taking my path to the ladder and switching levels stops the guards from ever being able to surround you.
