How many people like RENT the musical, whether you've seen the movie, seen the show live, or just listened to the soundtrack?

 

 

 

I recently went to see it live in Boston, and it was awesome. I didn't really like Mimi's performance, but everyone else did an incredible job, especially Roger, Mark, and Collins.

I'm a play/musical fanatic, and having worked in/read/seen/heard many, Iâââ‰â¢d say itâââ‰â¢s at best an âââ¬ÃÅokayâââ‰â¢ musical. But Iâââ‰â¢m biased. I don't like the plot, and I don't like what it stands for. But one thing is for certain, it has some of the best written music ever. The music is so beautiful, it's a shame that it was written for something like this. Nowâââ¬Ã¦ Wicked, Beauty and the Beast, My Fair Lady, Sound of Musicâââ¬Ã¦ those are some fabulous musicals in my opinion. :P

I just know it has the black detective guy from Law and Order. So that is why I wanna see it.

The music is absolutely wonderful. I could listen to the soundtrack for the rest of my life. I get irritated watching it though...

Well, I wouldn't say I'm against anything it stands for, but you're right. The plot is a little thin. I personally think that the music makes up for it, though, especially live. Some lines, some harmonies... incredible. I would say it's better than Wicked for just that reason, but I've only listened to the Wicked soundtrack a couple of times (my sister saw it live, but I was working :evil: ), so I don't really know.

i watched the movie. personally: not for me. got boring pretty quick

i love musicals though, urinetown is a funny one, and of course ive seen all the classic one like dance of the vampires, cats or phantom
