SmAuRt_GuY
Ok I just checked some of the member's quests and I looked at an easy one. It didn't seem so easy to me. The monsters on there were level 40s. I know that I probably seem like a noob to some of you but still. Can someone tell me what levels do I need to raise before I become a member? I don't wana die everytime I use one of the member's features. Here are my stats.... My combat level is 44 and if you need to know my quest points for some reason it is 39 i think. And if I'm already good enough that would be cool! is it because light travels faster than sound, that you appeared smart before you spoke?yes........ Licky Kat
When to become a member is purely your choice. Whenever you want to start working on member skills or want more areas to train. I became a member two weeks after I started playing Runescape. Call me Kat, or Kathy Corkat

Jimmyd17
I know that for me it was a crunch to get 60 attack and defence before the membership was activated. Although, that was a good time for me, it purely depends on when you feel you're ready. Moneywise I'd say wait until you get more experinced in the f2p skills because in members they can tend to be forgotten.

BoffoBoy
A good guide line if you arte looking for most bang for the buck is do all free quests up and beat dragion slayer. If you don;t care about ramping up, member at level 3 is fine as well as you have a ton of advantages you can get started on posthaste. 1. Spinning flax at level 10 crafting is not only great exp, it's great money to start the game with. get to level 10 by killing a few cows or just picking up hides on member or free near lumby. once you hit ten, move on over to seers or gnomes and spin to 50 crafting level easy. 2. AGILTY!!! omg this skill helps everything you do so much. Not only do you regen stamina much faster (at 1 it's almost nil) even at level 30 agility, you can use 90% of the shortcuts you'd care about. Move on up to the gnome stronghold nw part of world and work agility to 30 on their course. Can pick and spin flax neaby so a great starter location. 3. boots of lightness. these guys lower your weight like -4 ish kg and are amazing for things like agility training and flax picking to name a few tasks.... how to get these free boots: you need to slash a web so bring a knife or sword etc, a tinderbox, and a few gold for a candle along the way. the room is dark so stop at catherby and buy a candle and light with a tinderbox. Catherby is just west of the white wolf mountain. The temple of ikov is where the boots are and NO you do not need to start the quest of the same name. On the map it's a giant grey rectangle south of seers, west of catherby, south of the diamond shaped range guild, soth east of the fishing guild. pop on down the ladder there and dodge the level 27ish bats to go west to some stairs. make sure you have a lit candle and go down the stairs to a dark room with no monsters. the boots are a ground spawn in the ne corner of the dark room behind the web. look for the red dot on the mini map. it's a quest item so if you want more than one, drop any in your inventory before grabbing another ground spawn. They don;t seem to have any value whatsoever so they will be lost when you die most likely. Between flax -> bowstrings for very very easy cash and agility/boos, member is great even at level 3 new to game. Cheers! -BB
transcript80
It depends: for me: I trained till i got like 55 att str def. And I did all f2p quests. So when i became a member, I could do a lot of p2p quest that come in handy, like fishing contest, druidic ritual etc. I also had the magic level to cast teleport to ardougne. I found that particularly handy for fast entrance to west part of RS. Of course, you can become a member at any time, and being a member speeds up levelling ANY skill, but I think paying the money and then having to level up combat from, say, 3 to 40 is a bit of lost time... and slightly a "waste" of money. But then again, the game is so much more fun on members!!! Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...
