Well ive only done fight caves twice now, (both times got to jad) and im always hearing about people with 70 range or whatever getting cape with x bow or c bow or whatever. i used x bow. i got owned. I took one look at italy rock and said "i dont get it" and i still dont, maybe you use it to get closer to jad? idk i really dont see the point. so after being owned the 2nd time and not getting to healers i looked at runescape database and i saw this

 

 

 

so i said to myself..."?!?!" then i thought about it, one of my bigest problems was prayer change. If i meleed jad or got close to him would he switch attacks? then i thought well i cant move to get those healers then i thought "ooh i could range them" then i thought "if you kill them they will come back" then again i thought "if i attack them once they will kill me" But wait!!! i would have melee prayer on. Your probably asking yourself, how is this asking for help? im asking if jad switches attakes when you are in melee range of him or if you have some better stratigies. I think this will work, But the only flaw i can find is getting close enough to him. If you can help me id really appreciate it. \

That's very interesting.. The guy in the pic is meleeing with protect from melee. Maybe Jad attacks like dragons do? If you're meleeing, it will melee more than range/mage. But then thats 3 prayers to change from. It would still help against healers. Now, i'm pretty sure Jad is very stong against melee and mage, and this is the reason why we all range him, and this is the recomended method on the KB.

 

Though i never tried meleeing Jad. I would really appreciate if someone tried that and post their results :D

My guess is that it will still mage/range but rarely, like a dragon's fire breath when you're meleeing it. I hope you get a clear reply from Jagex :wink:

You keep protect from melee at all times, except when you see the mage/range animation. It's then the time to switch.

 

 

 

Melee Attack: TzTok-Jad will only use his melee attack if you are standing next to him. If you are using Ranged or Mage to attack him, you shouldnt need to worry about melee attacks as you should be attacking from a distance. As for Melee, when he is not doing any of his other attack styles, you should have protect melee on at all times.

 

 

 

Protect from melee and meleeing it, Jad would probably only do occasional range/mage attacks, or perhaps not at all? (need an answer please.)

Well that sure is an interesting idea... Sort of makes the entry about the possibility of meleeing jad in the knowledge base not sound like the most stupid thing in the world \

The Italy rock is just a rock with lots of safespots. IE, corpses you can range over and stay out of range of melee. If you watch a video of the entire fight caves, you'll see that corpses are used very frequently to stay out of harms way. yay corpses! \ =D> \ =D> \

i see...well i use a spot that is kinda like an L shape but backwards, with a courpse too :) plus no monsters spawn to the left of it which is the only open spot. Idk im kinda paranoid of keyloggers so ive only watched one vid...and my comp was too slow lol.
