Feathering wouldn't really work. Maybe duplicating the C4D layer 3 times and setting the top to gaussian blue of 4px on lighter and the middle to soft light, then lower the opacity of the one on the bottom. Just try variations of that.

You made it even more shiny. But at certain point it looks some better because the wrong shine went over.
