These take a lot less time to make then arrows, so i was thinking...

Should i just use throwing knives? I know they won't be as strong, but until im around lvl 30-40 range?

Yes, you should. I'd suggest to go out there, kill a steel dragon, and yes. They drop rune javelins more often than rune knives, which is even better. And don't worry, they are very hard to defeat.

I'm brave enough to defeat them however. I hope you are.

If you can't kill them I'd suggest to kill black knights and get a lot of steel bars in order to get knives.

Even quicker way is to mine iron and coal and make steel knives.

So you advise using knives? I am awaiting the payment transaction for members and currently have over 3000 iron bars :/

Edit: and got any info on em? In the ranging guide by tip it it just tells you what knives there are and that they are stackable and cant fire as long as bow and arrow. :?:

If I were you I would make steel bars instead. They are very quick to mine, if you have rune pickaxe.

Trust me, even lvl88 miners can do very slow on a copper ore with bronze pickaxe. So use rune. [i'm not sure about lvl88s but I'm smithing level 59 and I can't mine fast with bronze pickaxe on copper]

Anyway, back to my point. There are 2 best places I know to smith steel.

South Of Legends' Guild and near Dark Wizards' Tower.

The Dwarven Mines is very good place too, but it get's crowded on a free world, since you are becoming member I'd suggest to use dark wizards' tower. There is very short walk to furance and anvil.

Knives are great to train range and are highly recommended by most rangers. They are *very* fast so the low hits aren't terribly annoying. One cool part is that you can even fight dragons using them because they are one handed, so you can wield an antifire shield. (Not that I'd recommend this at range levels lower than 40 ;).)

So yeah, don't be shy about your iron bars - go ahead and make them. I'd suggest making a small amount at first so you can see how they work. My son typically worked with around 3k of knives for training.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

If you have all those iron bars, just make iron knives. The steel knives won't make that much of a difference. Once you start killing higher level monsters, turn to steel. Save the steel bars for cannonballs.
