Lost 2.2m in one of the most common scams (but mostly my fault, if not completely)...

 

 

 

So, there I was, merchanting, as usual, in the east corner of fally world 2.

 

Level 3 pops up, buying with 4.4m.

 

Yeah, obvious scam.

 

So I trade, he offers the full money on my zammy (shock! horror!)

 

I think: Definately a scam.

 

So I go through with the trade, so I can report and make sure no-one gets hurt by the scam (because I'm too idiotic for my own good :roll: ).

 

But, to my horror, my mouse stuck, and ended on 'accept' instead of 'decline' (I was already on the second page)

 

So I message him, politely asking (by my standards) if I can have my stuff back for extra money.

 

No such luck, (hey, it was a long shot), and I've lost 2.2m

 

 

 

Yeah, basic scam, I know. Hell, stupidity gets the better of us all sometimes.

 

 

 

Just make sure you keep your mouse clean!

Just don't trade what you know is a scam. You'll never lose anything then.

 

Just let somone else report him for you.

Just human error and stupidity on your part. You took the risk of trying to be "smart" and you suffered, Learn from your mistakes

You see, this is what i hate about the forum people - you all start flaming someone because they were trying to catch a scammer red-handed so he would be lost from the game. I know hundreds who do this, it was just bad luck. perhaps if you read this post, subconciously you'll go out and buy a new infra-red mouse or go against your first instincts to trade an obvious scammer with a conventional mouse. And queenbee, did you report him?

But I doubt he'll get banned, it was pretty much my fault.

And I think I will go out and buy a wireless now, I've been meaning to get a new mouse for ages.

then do what i do, have 1 pair of recharce'able batteries in the mouse, and another pair ready.

 

 

 

When changing batteries, recharge the empty pair so you always have another pair.

I havent tried it yet, but i guess it isent, and not in counter strike while playing surf maps :lol:

lol, thats a good idea, ill do that. i was killing cyclopses and a rune defender dropped, i was gonna grab it and my batteries died, lucky me its a laptop and has its own personal built in mouse :D

It's times like this I'm glad my mouse is top of the range 8-)

how can you play runescape with a sticky mouse? that must be really annoying

Keeping just a mouse clean won't keep it from sticking. Clean the mouse pad too.

Just make sure you keep your mouse clean!

 

Thats why there are optical mice or laser mice.

Thats why I bought My Logitech G7. have 2 battery cartridge so you

 

never have to stop playing.
