Being an avid barrower (?) i have tried multiple ways at barrows, using ancients slayer dart and veracs, i find using slayer dart the best. i have one question that i cannot seem to find the answer anyware.

Does Mage Bonus Affect slayer dart?

 

 

 

so do i use ahrims with slayer staf?

 

or just wear guthans all the way through (besides ranging ahrim)?

 

 

 

using guthans would give me more room for food, (i need food because i only pray on karil and dharock) i bank after every trip as i dont see the point in wasting ppots just for the sake of 1 mins walk, (tele to house, charge prayer kryll(sp) tele, restock and go.

 

 

 

i would have thought that having a negative mage bonus would mean you would hit less often, it is the case with most attack and defensive spells,

 

 

 

and also does your mage level affect how hard you hit, i have been told for every 10 levels that you can hit 1 more, if so what are the levels that you hit more on, so i no what level to get my mage to, currently 89 and i max hit 18 with it.

 

 

 

 

 

before posting think, who told you the information? please backup with evidence dont just post saying mage bonus doesnt matter.

I don't know the answer but you could find out how much it affects it by trying to cast it in full rune and vambraces without a staff and see how little you hit with it then.

the first digit of you mage lvl is the 2nd digit of the damage of slayer dart (with the exception of 100) so if you get to 90 mage you can hit 19, you can also hit 20 when potted to over 100.

 

 

 

and mage bonus does not to my experience after the damge, i cast in full rune and hit 17 (my max) quite often

Mage Bonus may affect Magic Dart, but since the Barrow Brothers have a such a low Magic Defence that it might as well not matter. Magic Attack Bonus does NOT affect the Magic Damage at all, it merely increases/decreases the accuracy of the spells (splashes, 0 damage counts as a hit). If it had, then Ahrim set would cost at least twice as much, because it has the best magic bonus by far.

 

 

 

The damage of Magic Dart is 10 + {Magic Level/10}, where the number in brackets are rounded down, and it is currently the ONLY spell that increases damage when your magic level increases.

 

 

 

EDIT : For the record, I use Verac's ARMOR (not the full set, i don't wear the Flail) for the Barrow brothers, because it provides decent Melee Defence (all over 300 when i wear Dragon square), very good prayer bonus AND it has less Magic Attack Penalty. I can still get +3 Magic Attack Bonus when I mage Guthan and Torag in Melee Armor.

i was told it doesnt affect it thats why you will see some people in black hides and stuff casting it with the staff

i still wana take guthan for my technique down there, saves me using as much food = cheaper trips = more profit, because in the end thats the main reason for barrows other than xp and the armour, profit!
