Well, I just found out that Terragen was available for Mac as well, so I went crazy. Hum, they ok. I like some of them, some of them are bad though. It matters what you do with them, if you just stick them in a sig with some text, it wont look all that good. But if you change it around a bit, might look good.

I know about the sig thing, obviously it would take more than a name slapped over the picture. Got any ideas on what to do?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'd also like to know which ones you liked and which you didn't so I can focus my efforts on what looks good, and what doesn't.

Lol I just found out about Terragen too, thats why I started up a deviantart page :P got my 3 landscpaes on it, havn't had time to do more.

Some pretty nice ones. You should try to manually make some "height maps". (don't remember the right name, the one that tells where hills are :wink: ).

Yeah, Macs do rule! I got a new iBook G4 12 inch for my birthday, and threw away my Windows desktop because of it. I have it running dual display so it is great.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Do you mean I should use the Digital Elevation Maps (virtual representations of real places) so I can have places like Mt. Saint Helens and control the rest of the stuff or what? Can you be more specific?

I used to make maps to "Myth 2: the Soulblighter" with a program that reminds me of Terragen. You made a height map and a color map (the texture map that was strechted ontop the hills and plains). I made the height map in PS. White high, black low.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I mean..try to make them manually instead of creating in terragen or loading from net.

Now I get it. I think I'll try that. Sounds much easier that clicking through and generating terrains until you find one that you like.

2, 12, 17 are the ones i like best. if i counted right
