July 11, 200620 yr Can you mine coal in one hit like iron with a very high mining lv? I'm sorry the only good places for coal in free world is the wilderness or the mining guild. I'm not counting the swamp because agility is members only and you have to go all the way to Draynor to bank your coals. And it's very often crowded on a free world.
July 11, 200620 yr Author No i meant can you mine coal in one swing, like iron, but with a very high level.
July 11, 200620 yr Can you mine coal in one hit like iron with a very high mining lv? Well, you can't at level 85 mining. The best way that I have found to speed up mining is to give yourself 3 hits or so and then walk away and come back. AFAIK, this "resets" the random number generator and gives you another chance to get it quickly since you are no longer mining on the same "low probability" rock. Hope this helps.

Actually I have hit a coal with 1-hit I'm lvl 59 btw.
July 11, 200620 yr Actually I have hit a coal with 1-hit I'm lvl 59 btw. The issue is not if it can ever happen, (clearly it can) but rather does it ever happen all the time. I can 1 hit iron 95% of the time but coal is never like that.
July 11, 200620 yr Author Thanks for the help. I also had a theory that u get coal quicker when a monster is attacking u. Goobore that technique is working, thanks for the tip.
July 11, 200620 yr Thanks for the help. I also had a theory that u get coal quicker when a monster is attacking u. I have found that if I have a "slow" rock, then almost anything that I do to "change the situation" can usually help. So, if a monster event caused your mining to be interupted and reset the RNG, then I suppose it could help. I guess that only Jagex knows for sure...
