stutley
I'm sure it's been suggested before but here goes: A large building where we can gather and list what we are selling and what we want for it or what we are buying and what we are willing to pay. The offers would be displayed on the buying or selling screen, we can scroll up and down to view the offers which would be updated every minute. We would have to have the items (noted if bulk) or cash in our inventory in order to make offers. Once an offer is made, the item or cash would leave our inventory and rest with a broker until either someone trades us or we cancel the offer and regain our items/cash. A completed trade would see the item/cash turn up in our inventory immediately, we could not buy something if our inventory is full. I would very much like to see something like this as trading in crowded worlds is nigh on impossible!
Giordano
I dont really like these "Stock" and "Aduction" places. I think we're fine with forums and the current trading system. Simple to understand and do. BTW That isn't what a Stock Exchange is. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." Endasil
BTW That isn't what a Stock Exchange is. Yeah the title is pretty misleading. While your idea is not a bad one, I think JAGeX has attempted to lay such suggestions to rest by creating the official forums. THAT is your "marketplace." I don't think they're interested in the large framework alterations that would be needed to accomidate this idea. If I recall correctly, Ultima had a neat thing going which let you pay an NPC player to sell items for you in front of their house. If these were coded and placed inside of a central marketplace area, that MIGHT work, but would still take a large code overhaul,
stutley
BTW That isn't what a Stock Exchange is. It is very similar but on a smaller scale e.g. the offers might be such that coal can be bought for 210 or sold for 190. Regular traders would become brokers by setting the buying and selling prices per item type. The current methods: standing in a bank retyping the same thing for hours without getting a deal or listing on the forums, wait a few hours and hope someone replies are a waste of time that could be better spent levelling. Stallion4589
BTW That isn't what a Stock Exchange is. It is very similar but on a smaller scale no, it isnt. "stocks" dont exist. they arent items or resources. they are a share of the ownership of the company whose stock you are buying. what you are talking about is an in game market. jagex wouldnt make either, because as a previous poster said, the current system works, and a stock exchange would mean inflation, which is what jagex doesnt want. plus i dont think a stock exchange would work in game.
