July 18, 200619 yr I am looking to buy around 600 Rings of Forging, and I have been very timid to since somebody could smelt 112 iron with and leave me 28. I told a seller this and he told me it doesn't matter because once you trade them they go back to full, is he lying or is he telling the truth? Thanks! Mechwariorx Xbox 360>Wii>PS3
July 18, 200619 yr I have heard that too, as they appear to have no recordable charge, they should be returned to full when traded, to prevent scamming. On the same note I think you could sell them to a general store and buy them back to recharge them too.
July 18, 200619 yr Author I tried that, but I did it when there was only one charge left to get a little money for it. So I sell it and go to my bank and the next ring I use only has one charge. :wall: And thanks for you help I guess if we both heard it then it wasn't just some guy making it up on the spot. Xbox 360>Wii>PS3
July 18, 200619 yr well if it could recharge itself, wouldn't that be a little unfair to the people who make and sell the rings? I mean theoretically, you could smelt all the iron you wanted to with one ring Fear the frog reaper. Hypercubes make the frog reaper happy ^_^ Or else I shall feast upon your soul!!!
July 18, 200619 yr the ring is just a ring it is the person that is charged while wearing a ring, if you get me say i have 1 ring of forging and smelt 139 irons and sell the ring no matter where the next ring comes from it will dissolve in 1 smelt

You have the charge, not the ring. That's how Jagex avoided the problem that you are all worrying about.
July 18, 200619 yr if YOU smelt 139 ores, then change to another ring, no matter what happens, the ring will dissolve on the next smelt. As people have said, the 'charges' lie with your character, and not the individual ring. Such items that have 'charges' specific to the item will carry a number. It is the same with rings of recoil, the amount of recoil damage is stored on your character, not the ring. (p.s I can sell you some if you want)
