July 21, 200620 yr I think this originaed in that movie "Pay It Forward," where the social studies teacher tells the kids to do a project that will change the world. This one kid said "I'm making a website that will get all the kids in China to jump up at once." The teacher then replied "The objective being to knock the Earth off of its rotational axis?" It seems feasible since the movie came out in 2000, when most people were still browsing the intarwebs with dial-up. That aside the domain was registered in 2005, so the idea is most probably derived from the movie or some other source. handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"
July 21, 200620 yr When you have an object that weighs 10kg in a vacuum, it doesn't take 10kgs of force to move it. Even the slightest push will set it in motion. Earth moves through space, which is a vacuum in itself. While we won't twirl straight into the sun just because we all jumped at the same time, the result just might be noticable. It could be just a 2mm shift in orbit, but it'd be a result nontheless. it also depends where we jump. we could move the earth away from the sun however we may end up moving closer. anyway all we gonna do is wreck it agen Denizen of Darkness| PSN= sworddude198
July 21, 200620 yr Looks like I missed it by a day. I would have jumped, too. So what if it made no difference.
