Well, the good thing is that you can use the 50% protection ability

 

 

 

The bad thing is that every 8 prayer levels will raise your combat by 1 level.

 

So level 43 prayer will give you an extra 5 or 6 levels and level 52, 6 or 7.

Yes, but if he gets 5 or 6 combat levels, that's probably worth the protection prayers. You can still pk people higher than you.

true but like if its f2p it wont be as good saying there's less stuff

 

such if he has 1 def his best shield is a iron kite. if he has 43 prayer and member then he could get a unfilled prayer book even if he dies he can keep getting it back pretty good prayer bonus too =)
