I think along the walls there are some alcoves created by dragon eggs where it can't melee you, I'm not sure though.

It can't melee you, but im sure you can't mage or range without running out of the spot

The dragons don't run up to you. Once one attacks you, it shoots its fire at you. As long as you have antifire shield and antifire pot, you won't get damaged.

As Bign2000 said, as soon as you cast a spell at them they freeze in place. You can mage at them all day and they won't move.

ok, here it is, stand in one of the crevises arond the edges, hard to miss, with an antidragon shield, and anti-fire pot, and mage them, they cant hit you melee, but you wont get hit much with fire either if you have shield and pot
