What type of com. should i get?

Featured Replies

Alright i'm looking into buying a new computer because mine decided to suck.

It was a little bit laggy, couldn't handle world 2 fally and hardly 18 edge (And i'm a pk'er) it was an 'Intel inside Celeron'

I need to know what is best, or good for no lagg's pentium, a different type of celeron, Athlon (never heard of it, it's just one of the options) etc.

Also I need to know how much Ghz, RAM, MB etc. I would need.

If you can answer any one of those question's please post it.

Thankyou.

Also. I'm not planning on spending $1,000 so something around the $500 range :? (I have a monitor, keyboard n all that, just need a new comp.)

Avoid intel Celeron, thats just intels quick way out of things IMO. I would stick with the an intel dual core processor. Normally 512mb RAM would be sufficiant, but i would stick to 1GB especially if you are into other games.

How much would a dual core processor cost about. And i only play RS. Don't have time for any other games.

Dual cores are a little bit expensive. Would pentium 4 be any good?

A Pentium 4 is still plenty of power for anyone that just browses the web and plays RS. It's plenty for playing most new games when it's coupled with a high end video card. One down side to Pentiums is they put out alot of heat.

If you're on a budget, stay away from the brand new dual core chips. AMD's dual cores just had their prices dropped, but still not worth paying the money for if you aren't going to put it to use. You can pick up Pentium 4's and Athlon64 chips for under $100 now, so it's very easy to get a cheap computer built now.

In this case, you could just go out to your local computer store and probably find a computer (with a new monitor, keyboard, ect) on sale for $500. Here is a decent computer for $400.

I have a Pentium in my laptop.. If I don't keep the fan clean and let lots of air get to it, I tend to burn my hands if I touch certain spots on my computer.. :ohnoes:
