Macroing is now pretty big, i mean at any one time i wouldnt be surprised if the macroers are in the thousands. The only way they are going to get banned is if they get reported. Maybe we can get a new section in, and have guides about how to tell if someone is autoing other than the "jim46, say something or ill report you", and reporting the level 3s. Because there are more autoers than people think, using high level accounts, and they get away with it. I know i could post guides there, i know heaps about macroing, the different types and exactly how they work, whats possible and whats not etc. being an ex autoer (classic, had all my accounts banned though eventually) i talk to a lot of cheaters/programmers. and i have also made a macro for a school assignment months back. (before i get flamed, id just like to say i never distributed it, and the only time i actually used it was on a level 3 for roughly 5-10 mins. I havnt logged into the account since) I could also post guides about the stuff like banker killing, and the history of cheating just for people interested. Basically its a 'know your enemy to fight it' idea It would also provide a place for people to talk about it, because i have noticed a few topics with extremely similar things in it. I know how to spot macroers, because my mate is one. And isn't bank killing where you get a paket snifer and get bank packets and (I wont say the rest) so you can open the bank anywhere. AND BEFORE ANYONE ASKS, I HAVE NEVER USED AND NEVER WILL USE MACROS, AND I DON'T SUPPORT OR ENDORSE THEM. thanks will I have 2 rs accounts, gregory121 and wig44. Bankers used to be npcs walking around in the bank, instead of bankbooths like rs has now. But being able to open your bank anywhere is possible, just very detectable. It is based on these facts that I must support Notorious ice. This way we are educating newbies about scamming. Pushing it to the top of the board won't fix it. 2) The macro system is much more than just players reporting them. 3) Telling players what to look for will just send out even more vigilatie players looking for people to report. We don't need that. I get enough crap from people thinking I'm a macro just because I don't answer their hi in less than 5 seconds. Example: "Hi" 1..2..3..4..5.. "Hello? Are you a macro?" 1..2..3.. "I just reported you..." *Dork wanders off*. We DON'T need more of that clogging the system. If you know what to look for, that's fine and dandy, you're helping the community out a bit, but telling people what to look for will never be accurate enough for people to be correct even 50% of the time. And as i said before, i can put in history about rs cheating, for people interested (its quite interesting actually) And it might help people understand all that stuff about "hacking runescape accounts" and stat editors etc are literally impossible. Its 1 thing to tell people they dont work, its another to tell them WHY they wont work- It might help people know when they are being scammed. You're right, because I don't see many people waste 5 dollars or more and wind up banned, unless I'm really that...clueless. Perhaps try reporting the 30+ macroers on any given f2p world at the Yew trees behind Varrock Castle? :? My point being, you don't have to be a member to play a part in stopping macros if you're so adamant about getting rid of them and informing others about it. And all these level 3s are using a chinese deob bot. Jagex has a reflection system which tells them if someone is logged into a modified client so they will get banned at the same speed if they get reported or not. - Both cases are slow Don't be afraid your life will end, be afraid it will never begin.
