It's amazing why some people choose to scam or beg for such low returns. Yesterday I saw a guy standing at one spot begging for copper for nearly half an hour. He could have ran and smelted 100 bars in that time.

ya i have had that done but the funny one is when they say hey u wanna be a mod or a staff member i will do it if u give me you bank pin, password, recovery questions... umm.... your activation code, and i think that will do it ok?

Good thing to hear many players are educated these days to know these scams - no matter how oblivious they are . :P

 

 

 

If you run into someone who asks for your password - simply report as rule 3 even if it's not "scamming" asking for a password or bank-pin is against this rule.

one time someone tried a 'im a jagex mod, give me ur pass and ill give u a phat' or whatever

 

 

 

i played along, pretending i was also a jagex mod, acting like i knew him

 

'oh your john arent you?'

 

'yeah'

 

'hows the kids?'

 

'huh?'

 

'your kids, steven and ellen'

 

'what?'

 

etc

 

 

 

then i told him i could do the same 'hack' as him since im a mod to. then he asked me to do it on his account.

 

I informed him of his extreme lack of intelligence before reporting him.

I believe one of my F2P friends has actually fallen for that when he was still new. He tends to not be all that bright, but fortunately he learned from his mistake.

I almost fell for that once. But I realised what was happening and pretended to fall for it. I reported him when he wasn't expecting it.
