I was wondering what the best f2p rune weapon is.

 

 

 

 

 

I've searched around a bit and haven't been able to find a topic that addresses my question, but if someone can direct me to the right place I'd appreciate that.

rune scimitar : hits less but it's faster

Most people seem to choose the rune scimitar as a good balance between speed and hit power. I trained in f2p with a rune scim, in p2p I use a d scim for strength.

 

 

 

The hally is ok for safespotting but I find it very slow xp, although you need no food.

Rune scimmy is the best by far. As fast as a dagger and nearly as strong as a long. Nothing beats scimmies for training on f2p and they are the most used f2p pk weapon as well.

I'd say those two are the best rune weps for F2P.

im 98 combat, u can look my other stats up, but i do best at mossies using a battleaxe rather than a scimitar, despide the speed difference. but in general if its multi-combat or a highly sought after monster like lessers or ice giants, use a scimitar. otherwise use a battleaxe for power

scimy all the way... 2h is handy when pking as u can pull it out when ur opponent has low health, but other than that scimy owns.

Ok this is my first post but i know what i am saying.

 

 

 

Rune long has more power then the rune scimmy but it is slower. The question is which should you chose? Both are strong in slash attacks so thats not the issue, the scimmy can keep up with quick hitting monsters but you will hit about 2 pts. lower then long (at least for me) i figure for each hit i could get a little extra damage w/ rune long then getting less damage more often with a scimmy. It's all about preference, find what you like. Maybe a poll should be made: "rune long or rune scimmy?"

rune long doesnt hit less than scimmy, it has more strength bonus.

 

 

 

I like the long best cuz it is still at a respectable speed and hits more than scimmy

Maybe I should define "best" like so:

 

 

 

The best f2p weapon does more damage than any other weapon in a given amount of time.

 

 

 

So, to refine my question, which f2p weapon does the above?

there is no "best weapon". The faster the weapon is the lower its power will be. THe slower a weapon is the higher its power will be. You just have to figure out what you want. Speed or power?
